A small mage with a big heart

 

This mage may be small, but what she lacks in size, she makes up for with courage and determination!

When I bought the hat seen in the first picture at Fantasy Faire in late April, I wasn’t really thinking about how big it would actually be! Don’t get me wrong, I love it, but it did get me thinking about what kind of a look I wanted to build around it!

For some reason, I kept picturing a small creature like a pixie or faerie in this big oversized hat. Throw in a cute outfit from Jangka (their hunt gift for the Hallow Manor hunt), a head from Bespoke, a big book of magical herbs, and a Raven familiar, and you’ve got a cute clever little mage eager to put her knowledge of magick to good use!

There’s no shortage of fantastic Halloween-y places to explore right now, so it was hard to decide which place to choose, but The Shambles won me over with its gorgeous combination of whimsy and spookiness. Its description on destination guide was pretty great too: “Discover the magic of York 1590 where the hag is astride and the devil does ride and witches rule every nick and corner… Explore every corner where potions do rise and voodoo is high and the houses are full to brim of Halloween surprise!”
