Atheneum

 

Let’s do some enchanting at Atheneum!

Atheneum is a region designed by by Helena Stringer, Ylva Korhonen and What88 Zond. It is sponsored by Second Life Syndicate.

This region is in a constant, beautiful state of twilight, filled with stone buildings that (to me) have an almost “Art Deco” feel to them. The trees, flowers, statues, and overall feel are beautiful enough, but what really pleasantly surprised me was the underground section. 

A large hole in the ground leads to a tunnel, which leads to a breathtaking underground cavern, filled with more buildings, and ethereal lights.

The description of Atheneum reads as follows: “Four bloodlines and a team of scientists began a legacy centuries ago. Powers were unlocked and unleashed upon the world, growing through generations, until they reached a point of no return. Entering the modern age, to avoid catastrophe, the scientists decide it is time for this legacy to become legend. Not to be forgotten, they trap the spirits of each bloodline into a living exhibit of their history. The future now learns from the past, and their mistakes, in this eerie entombed museum.”
